The Economics Nobel prize winner, Prof. JosephStiglitz, on September 29, 2004 told the Annual CommonwealthConference of Finance Ministers in St Kitts and Nevis, that "it is better to be an American or European cow - rather than anAfrican person."
Agricultural subsidies in the industrial Western countries amount to US$350 billion per annum, while total ODA (Overseas DevelopmentAssistance) is a mere US$56 billion. An American or European cow is subsidized at the rate of $2 a day, yet the majority of Africans are l iving on $1 a day.
Absolutely horrendous- the economic disparity between us and the west has me worried
could it be that neo-colonialism and our dependence on the western way of life has played a major role in this?? - over to you - yr comments are welcome

Hi Jay every one seems quiet today!! - i kind of see where your coming from- but how do governments change unless people like u and i assume power? if we dont then the cycle continues- if we cut all ties with the west and focused on Africa - how bad would it be- empower ourselves and stop feeding off the rich countries
Gud afternoon everyone, oops i ve just come right, over da wknd i waz in Eldoret.... yesterday there were no buses back (mayb da Jaluos hired all da buses plying Western routes to take them 2 Kisumu hahahah!)So i had to book a Rift Valley shuttle in da morning for an evening journey.. imagine i arrived in Nai at mid-nite (thankx to taxi operators).
Anyway leave it like that, Africans leaders r fools, esp here in Kenya, we ve the capacity to match the developed world if only we utilitilize on da resources we have. The big issue here is corruption, if only this is routed out, then we don ve to b stretching begging bowls to Western countries.. over reliance on them for aid makes us lazy n corrupt, thats y u find even this help they r giving will only land in individuals pockets!

We hv the tendency of blamin everything on colonialists instead of lookin on what 2 do 2 better our future. Not just the leaders, even the public at large.
We should put the past behind us n try in makin better our future days if not 4 us then our kiddos. Sounds cliche' but its true.
Lk we cld start by electing young people into Parliament. Kick the old goons ass out of parliament...n hv ple like me in. My ministerial post been minister of tourism...haha....lol 4 real!

The pastor entered his donkey in a race and it won. The pastor was so pleased with the donkey that he entered it in the race again, and it won again.
The local paper read: PASTOR'S ASS OUT FRONT.
The Bishop was so upset with this kind of publicity that he ordered the pastor not to enter the donkey in another race.
The local paper read: BISHOP SCRATCHES PASTOR'S ASS.
This was too much for the bishop, so he ordered the pastor to get rid of the donkey. The pastor decided to give it to a nun
The local paper, hearing of the news, posted the following headline the next day: NUN HAS BEST ASS IN TOWN.
The bishop fainted. He informed the nun that she would have to get rid of the donkey, so she sold it to a farmer for $10.
The next day the paper read: NUN SELLS ASS FOR $10.
This was too much for the bishop, so he ordered the nun to buy back the donkey and lead it to the plains where it could run wild.
The next day the headlines read: NUN ANNOUNCES HER ASS IS WILD AND FREE.
The bishop was buried the next day....
There's this funny thing abt the Luos (not that i hate them but bcoz of their funny x'cters, infact i ve many friends), when u meet any of them they say Obama is ma ucnle!! hahhaahahahaha..i wonder how many relatives Obama ve?
This is hilarious............... A woman gets on a city bus. She looks at the driver and holds up one hand; the driver holds up two hands.
Next, the woman points up; the driver points down. Then, the woman grabs her breast; the driver grabs his crotch.
A curious passenger asked the bus driver what theodd motions were all about.
The driver explained, ‘the woman is a deaf-mute. She asked me if a bus ride is five cents, and i told her it was ten cents. Next, she asked if the bus was goining uptown, and i told her it was going downtown. Then, she asked if the bus was going past the dairy, and i told her it was going past the ballpark........’
The passenger interjected, ‘okay, but why did she grab her butt as she left the bus?’

trying to ask why? She repeated the slap, people
from neighborhood rushed around to know the cause of
this. The man then asked junior to tell everybody
wat the lady said to him when he called.

Stiffy, Eld waz soo gud, its a very nice place 2 spend a wknd. Its raining soo badly in da Rift man. Tne there is this hell happening btw Naivasha n Nakuru, vehicles ve bn divided, its causing traffic snurl up men... u cant move, they shuld increase da pace of constructing the main road.
Otherwise, things r not bad.

You guys should visit those blogs and read for yourselves what those haters wrote (Seanice and Leo also commented!) and my few lines in their direction as well...! There is probably a manhunt out for me all over Nairobi by now. Like am afraid.
Anyhow, thanks unyc, one of those guys actually said that this blog is full of crap, like their gossip is academic manna meant to enrich our lives. The crew is doing a good job, both on the show and on this blog. If those haters think they'll bring us down, well, then they have another think coming...
