YAO MING is dating actress NIA LONG. . . whom you may remember as WILL SMITH'S girlfriend on "The Fresh Prince of Bel Air". Nia, by the way, is 5-foot-2. (!!!)

Yao supposedly developed a thing for Nia while watching her on "The Fresh Prince" in his native China. . . and had been trying to score a date with her ever since joining the NBA four years ago.
Last month, she finally gave in, and they've been seeing each other ever since.
